This large, 383g raw amber was fished from Danish waters and holds the marks of a long life beneath the sea. Its surface is rich with natural holes, crevices, and a striking tunnel-like cavity – likely the trace of a long-decayed branch that once passed through it.
The golden amber tone is deepened by dark organic shadows, adding depth and contrast. Along one side, you’ll find the delicate white traces of calcareous tubeworms (Serpulidae) – tiny marine organisms that build chalky tubes on submerged surfaces over time. Their presence reveals how long this piece has rested on the seafloor, slowly shaped by water and life.
With its sculptural shape, caves, and textures, this piece invites close observation and quiet awe. A collector’s treasure or a natural altar object with timeless presence.
