Elephant Pendant – A Royal Symbol in Amber and 18k Gold

Powerful yet peaceful. Graceful yet grounded. The Elephant Pendant embodies quiet strength, wisdom, and emotional presence – captured in soft, milky amber and crowned with solid gold.

Sculpted in tones of creamy white and light golden yellow, the amber reveals gentle depth and natural swirls – a soft surface full of movement and warmth. The pendant takes the form of an elephant, a shape long associated with memory, protection, and quiet authority across cultures.

In a Nordic context, it’s impossible not to think of the Order of the Elephant, Denmark’s most distinguished honour – a symbol of sovereignty, dignity, and tradition. This pendant pays quiet homage to that symbolism, reimagined in a material born from the earth and shaped by time.

The elephant is mounted with a hand-turned 18 karat gold bail, crafted and assembled in our Danish workshop. The opening measures 4 mm and fits most fine chains. With a height of 30 mm and a width of 28 mm, the piece carries a reassuring weight of 5 grams – substantial yet soft, sculptural yet understated.

Amber is a delicate, natural material. Avoid impact, perfume, and harsh chemicals. Store your jewelry in a soft pouch, away from sunlight and heat.

Amber and soap do not go well together – never use soap or cleaning products directly on amber.

Silver may tarnish – clean gently with a soft cloth and mild soap (but not on the amber). Gold can scratch – store separately.

We are a family-run business with a deep passion for amber. For more than 45 years, Margit and Erik have worked with this unique material at Ravgården, our shop and workshop on the Danish west coast. Here they still welcome guests, share their knowledge and keep the craft alive – a proud heritage carried through four generations. I, Christine, grew up at Ravgården and today continue the tradition by bringing our family’s work into the digital world with Ravgaard.
