Durchziehohrringe

Different Styles of Amber Earrings
Amber earrings come in many expressions — and the right pair depends on the stone, the setting, and the occasion.
Studs offer a quiet, everyday elegance. A single amber stone in silver or gold sits close to the ear, letting the natural color and texture of the amber speak for itself.
Drop earrings move with you. The amber catches light differently throughout the day, and the gentle weight gives a sense of presence without being heavy.
Pull-through earrings are a more contemporary style — a continuous curve of metal or amber that threads through the ear for a fluid, modern look.
At Ravgaard, our earrings range from our No. 1 Signature series — handcrafted in Denmark in sterling silver, 14k and 18k gold — to more sculptural one-of-a-kind pieces where the amber itself dictates the form. No two stones are ever alike, which means no two pairs are ever truly identical.

Amber Earrings Through History
Amber has been used for personal adornment since the Stone Age — worn as amulets, beads, and pendants long before the concept of jewelry as we know it today. As craftsmanship evolved, so did the forms amber took.
In the Viking Age, amber beads and pendants were among the most prized possessions, harvested from the shores of the Baltic Sea and traded across Europe. Earrings as a form emerged and spread through trade routes — the same Amber Roads that connected Scandinavia with the Mediterranean, Egypt, and the Middle East.
Through the Bronze Age, the Middle Ages, and into modern times, amber has never gone out of fashion. Its warmth, lightness, and natural glow make it uniquely suited to frame the face — which is perhaps why amber earrings have endured across cultures and centuries.
At Ravgaard, we carry that history forward. Each pair of earrings is handcrafted in our workshop in Sønderlev, shaped by the same material that has fascinated people for thousands of years.
Caring for amber jewelry
Amber is a natural resin — warm, light, and sensitive to chemicals and heat. To keep your piece looking its best:
- Avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, and cleaning products
- Remove jewelry before swimming or bathing
- Store in a soft pouch or box, away from direct sunlight
- Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth
- If the surface becomes dull, a drop of olive oil on a cloth can restore its natural warmth.
With the right care, amber jewelry lasts a lifetime — and often improves with age. For a deeper guide, visit our [Care Guide] page.
